Bonsai soil

A soil based on the ancient Japanese tradition: the health of the tree depends on its roots, and the health of the roots also depends on the soil. In a small bonsai pot, this relationship is much more binding. In fact, in a bonsai pot, the height-to-width ratio is very reduced, and this makes drainage more difficult. For this reason, our substrate has a high percentage of siliceous substances that guarantee excellent drainage and increase the macroporosity necessary to maintain a good level of aeration; without it, roots tend to rot. For its formulation, we decided to use Irish peat which has an excellent water retention capacity, while the presence of humic substances and clay guarantee a strong padding power and a uniform humidification of the root area.
